Thought Projects is a creative studio for exhibitions, interpretation, community engagement, and museum services.
We craft exhibitions, art installations, public history projects, and interpretive programs that are meaningful for diverse communities.

EXHIBITIONS
We’ll take on your exhibition project from conception to installation. Our team will help refine your concept, scale the project, develop a budget, engage stakeholders, identify objects and lenders, compose a checklist, oversee exhibition design and installation, develop educational tools, and support your publicity and communications needs.

Our network of vendors will undertake services as needed, including editors and proofreaders, translators, fabricators, designers, art shippers, AV integrators, and digital producers who each understand the exhibition development process and their role in a successful project.

CIVIC ART
We undertake outreach and engagement to collect input from community members leading up to the commissioning of a civic art project. We’ll draft an artist brief, collect and review proposals, develop a budget, and work closely with the selected artist and fabricator to oversee production and installation.

INTERPRETATION
Is there history that needs to be made visible in your community? Let us help you uplift underrepresented stories in the form of an exhibition, program, or art commission. We work thoughtfully with community stakeholders, making sure that individuals and groups have ample opportunity to engage in story collection. We visit collections and archives to gather powerful images and assets. We partner with innovative designers to bring engaging form to your project.

Let us handle your public history project or other interpretation project from research to finished product. Historic sites and trails, walking tours, commercial spaces, or civic plazas–we will develop and implement an interpretive plan that suits your site and budget.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Our team will help your organization collect community input through a thoughtful and thorough outreach effort. We are interested in substantive dialogue and engagement to inform exhibitions and civic art projects. We are eager to embrace complicated issues, and look forward to the opportunity to work closely with your team on the important work of opening up a dialogue with constituents through workshops, group discussions, and targeted surveys.

MUSEUM SERVICES
Need a helping hand? We offer exhibition support so your project stays on track. We can help develop checklists, secure loans, draft exhibition copy, and team up with members of your staff and outside vendors to get your exhibitions up and open.
